Disney Emoji Blitz

Match 3 games are a dime a dozen these days. From the Candy Crushes of the world to every match game in-between, it starts to get hard to tell which to play these days. We decided to test out Disney's Emoji Blitz because: A, it's Disney. B, Emojis! C, it looks crazy cute.

Each round of Disney Emoji Blitz goes for about a minute, sometimes longer if you get a boost during the level. Like any other match 3, you match 3 matching characters to clear a line. The difference here is it's all time based, so you need to be quick and able to line up stellar combos to unlock special boosts. We recommend focusing on the bottom tiles to earn the highest points.

The fun really gets started when you activate Blitz Mode which means a whole lot more points and extra time in each round. For those of you who won't pay for lives like us, you only get rounds to play at a time, so Blitz Mode is really what counts.

Based on the Emoji you've selected you'll get special boosts – Tinkerbell, for instance, adds additional booster tiles to the board, helping you achieve Blitz Mode a little faster. As you work through each level you also collect Disney themed items (a churro!) that can then be used in your emoji keyboard.

We admittedly thought this game would be kind of dumb, but we've totally fallen in love with it. The speed of each round keeps you on your toes, the music and SFX are total Disney fun, and the graphics are really adorable. For young kids you'll likely get frustated quickly at how few free rounds you get, but lives refill fairly quickly and with patience you can advance through the game without purchases. We give this one three hearts!

Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector

Given my crazy love of Pusheen, it should be no surprise that as soon as I heard about Neko Atsume I ran to my phone and downloaded it immediately.

Free for both iPhone and Android, the whole premise of the game is to collect amazingly cute cats.

Then you collect amazingly cute things for your cats to play with. Exponential cuteness.

And let's not forget, cat butts.

It's super simple. It's a rabbit hole of kitty ridiculousness. I can't recommend it enough!

Monument Valley

If you haven't played Monument Valley yet, you need to PRONTO! Aside from being one of the most gorgeous iOS apps I've ever seen, this puzzle game is also super fun!

Throughout the game you guide Ida, an amazing princess, through mysterious monuments, discovering hidden paths, delving into optical illusions, and of course, defeating the Crow People.

Once you fall totally in love with the characters, you'll want to be them, and own everything ever made of them, which isn't much. BUT, lucky for you I found these awesome figures on etsy of Ida and the Crow People! Aren't they amazing?

I give this app a 10 out of 10. I've already played it more than once and could play it over and over again! ♥♥♥♥
